In addition to the same working principle, there are many differences between oil-immersed transformer and dry type transformer.
.from the appearance point of view, packaging forms are different, dry-type transformers can directly see the core and coil, and oil-type transformers can only see the transformer shell;
.the lead form is not the same, dry-type transformers are mostly used silicone rubber casing, and most of the oil-type transformer using porcelain casing;
.capacity and voltage are different, dry-type transformers are generally suitable for power distribution, the capacity is generally below 2000KVA, the voltage below 35KV, there are individual 110KV voltage level; and oil-based transformers can achieve full capacity, the voltage level also be all the voltage.
.insulation and heat is not the same, dry-type transformers are generally insulated with resin, the oil-type transformer insulation by insulating oil.
.the load capacity is different, general dry-type transformers should be run at rated capacity, while the oil-type transformer overload capacity is better.
.the cost is not the same, for the same capacity of the transformer, the dry-type transformer purchase price is higher than oil-type transformer prices.
